It finally arrived, and I couldn’t be happier!
We have city water and the chlorine is horrible. We used a Brita filter for years, which needed to have the filters changed from time to time. We had been looking at the Berkey water filters for awhile, and finally had the means to purchase. I honestly am so happy, and the water tastes great!
Good water is an absolute must. We used a Zero filter while we lived in town. It worked very well. How much water does the Berkey filter at a time, and are there filters to change?
ReplyDeleteGood morning Rosalea! Our Berkey is the small, counter top “ Travel Berkey” model, and holds a gallon and a half, in the reservoir. It will process 2.75 gallons an hour. It has two filters that will remove viruses, pathogens, bacteria, heavy metals, pesticides, at 99.9 % and the filters are good to process 6,000 gallons of water. The filters might become slow, in which case, you can take them out and scrub them off...reinstall and they work again. So, we considered that we drink 2 gallons per day, for the two of us, give or take ...the filters should last us for about 7-8 years! Win!
ReplyDeleteThat is super! Are the filters ceramic?
DeleteThey are made of a carbon composite containing high grade coconut shell carbon, combined with a blend of 5 other types of media. We got that description off the web site, so I hope that helps. We really love it!
